| Trail Description |
Can be quite rocky on the mountain itself-if your horse is at all tender-footed, you will need to have shoes or boots. The Cowboy Trail and Overlook Trail are not for beginners-horses or riders. Parts can be strenuous. The Creek/Lake trail is much flatter and quite nice. Total trail mileage is approximately 16 miles-but none of it is flat! All of the trail is within the park and it is protected-which means lots of wildlife, old trees, and you MUST be able to read trail markers. |

Cabins are available as well as "primitive" sites. Horses must be stabled at the stables for a fee. Georgia State Parks are well run and offer such amenities as fishing, swimming, hiking, paddle boats, canoes. The cabins usually have beds, kitchen ware, furniture, and are rather comfortable. |
